The health of the eyelids is very important both aesthetically and functionally. It limits the field of view over time and appears with the aging of the skin. Droopy eyelids affect negatively the functionality and the aesthetics of the eyes.
Our 47-year-old patient, Ms. Nadenzha Ivanova Varbanova, applied to our hospital with complaints of droopy eyelids and related vision obstruction.
Our patient, who came from Sliven city of Bulgaria, conveyed her complaints to Op. Dr. Çiğdem Akdağ Koçer. Upon her complaints, M.D. Çiğdem Akdağ Koçer recommended upper lid blepharoplasty to our patient.
Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that corrects droopy eyelids by removing extra skin, muscle, and fat. The muscles that support the eyelids weaken as you become older, and the eyelids stretch. Excess fat may collect above and below your eyelids as a result, appearing in droopy upper lids, sagging eyebrows, and bags under your eyes.
After all the pre-operative examinations and analyzes we hosted our patient in the hospital for one night and she was taken into operation the next day. The operation was successful, without complications. The patient was kept in the hospital room for post-operative follow-up and was discharged after two hours.
Ms. Varbanova said that she was very satisfied with our Ophthalmology specialist M.D. Çiğdem Akdağ Koçer and all the hospital team. We, as the family of Çorlu Vatan Hospital, wish Ms. Varbanova a long and healthy life.
