Mrs. Safije Idrizi, a 62-year-old from Macedonia, sought treatment for obesity in our hospital. She shared with us that for many years, she wanted to say goodbye to her excess weight, which has seriously threatened her health and created difficulties in performing her daily activities.
Mrs. Idrizi’s case was taken over by our Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Specialist, Dr. Mustafa Onder Dolap, and detailed explanations were provided regarding suitable treatment options. Based on her physical condition and Body Mass Index, Mrs. Idrizi was recommended a “Sleeve Gastrectomy”.
Upon Mrs. Idrizi’s agreement, hospitalization and preoperative preparation began. Comprehensive examinations were conducted by our Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Psychiatry, Nutrition and Dietetics Specialists, along with blood tests. After confirming no medical obstacles, surgery was successfully performed the next day. Postoperative follow-up, observed by our Dietician, Çiğdem Kıral, revealed an 8-kilogram weight loss during her four-day hospitalization.
After arranging follow-up examinations and providing postoperative dietary guidance, Mrs. Idrizi was discharged in good overall condition, wearing a smile.
