Mrs. Izolda Melinda (37), from Germany, sought treatment at our hospital for obesity. Mrs. Melinda stated that she had gained a significant amount of weight after childbirth and despite numerous attempts with diet and exercise, she was unable to lose weight.
After examinations and tests conducted by our Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Specialist, Dr. Mustafa Onder Dolap, Mrs. Melinda decided to undergo Sleeve Gastrectomy. Preparations for the surgery including examinations by the Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Psychiatry, Nutrition and Dietetics departments completed. After an endoscopic examination and various tests (including abdominal ultrasound and chest X-ray), it was determined that there were no obstacles for Mrs. Melinda to undergo the surgery. With a height of 155 cm and a weight of 93.1 kg, Mrs. Melinda was admitted for the operation.
After a successful surgery, Mrs. Melinda stayed in our hospital for 4 nights for post-operative monitoring and was discharged in good health. When she returned for her follow-up appointment a week later, Mrs. Melinda expressed her excitement for her new life, stating that everything was going well.
Mrs. Melinda conveyed her gratitude to Dr. Dolap, and his team, as well as to all the nurses and staff who took care of her.
