Our patient 54-year-old patient sought treatment in our hospital due to her weight-related issues and health complications. She consulted Dr. Okay Pirti, our Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Specialist, after experiencing various health problems. Following initial examinations, Sleeve Gastrectomy was recommended for our patient and her Body Mass Index was calculated to be 65.
Preoperative preparations included evaluations by Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Pulmonology, Anesthesia, Nutrition and Dietetics departments. After thorough examinations and tests, it was confirmed that our patient was suitable for the planned procedure.
Our patient remained in our Covid-19 sterilized facility for preoperative preparations. The surgery was successfully performed laparoscopically with five mini-incisions, lasting three hours. After three nights of hospitalization, our patient was discharged in excellent health.
